About us

Bibliothek & Information International (BI-International) is the standing committee of Bibliothek & Information Deutschland (BID), the Federal Association of German Library and Information Associations, to promote international professional exchange.

BI-International promotes international dialogue and Europe- and world-wide cooperation in the field of library and information activities. BI-International supports cooperation and relations, the exchange of experience and personal interactions of library and information specialists in Germany and abroad.

BI-International’s work is primarily project-focused and based on German government (federal and state) funds.

BI-International’s partners are: the Goethe Institut and the German National Library.
